aight...i got pulled over on Friday night because my tail lights were out. I knew i blew my fuse and i told the officer that, but i didn't know it took out my tail lights. So he said he'll give me a warning. I just thought...oh, a warning..thanks officer. I then go home. Next morning i look at the warning again, and it said.... "If DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT is checked, the law requires that the defects be corrected. Proof of repairs must be submitted to the DMV within twenty (20) days (See reverse side). I look to the right and DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT as well as Tail Lights were checked. I turn the warning over... It says

Repairs Made
Name of Licensed Dealer/Repairer
____________________________

Licensed Repairer's License Number
____________________________

Printed Name of Person Completing Inspection | Signature of Person completing inspection

__________________________________________________ ______

Title of Person inspection Vehicle | Date Signed

__________________________________________________

Important:
Under the law, repairs must be completed- and the operator's copy of this WARNING returned to the DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES not later than 20 days from the date that this WARNING was issued (see address below). If not received within 20 days, the registration of the vehicle will be subject to suspension and you will also be subject to a Civil Penalty of not less than $50.00.

Department of Motor Vehicles, Driver Services Division, 60 State Street, Wethersfield Connecticut 06161-2525.

Now...the problem is that i'm not sure if i have to go to the DMV to get an inspection or i can fix it myself and bring it to a dealership and have them inspect it. Also..i can't bring it to the DMV because this car has no insurance, well, i looked for the insurance papers and it wasn't in there (i'm buying this car off this one guy and i owe him 50 more bucks before he signs the title over to me). I have like 18 more days. I already fixed this problem....it was just a burnt fuse. So....what should i do? plz be helpful n' not just say "get insurance" lol cuz i'm in the process in doing that this week when i get the title.

Most times (well here anyways) if you go to pay a fine or get a fix it ticket revoked they don't ask for insurance card... if they do just say your forgot it at home.

as for the title... use the same as above.

Ive gotten a couple of these fix-it tickets before. What I do is, I fix it myself and then take the car to the police station and show them that I fixed whatever it was. Then they just take the ticket and say im all set, no court, no dmv, no charge, nothing.

Well, I don't know if you should do this but I got a pile of those little pink slips at home. Warning this and warning that. Whenever I get one, I just add it to the pile. I've gotten warnings for no front license plate, blue lights, blue lights again, excessive noise. They never do anything. If You were where I live, I would just tell you to throw it away. But I don't know how strict they are where you live. So, its up to you buddy.

Fix-it tickets are so gay. I got one of them and couldn't have my car inspected and they suspended my registration. So I had to fix it and then take it to a shop and for $2 they passed me through. Then I had to mail it to the DMV and then they reinstated my reg.

wait wait, TICKET or WARNING, cuz if its a warning, then its a warning, meaning if seen again it will be a ticket. i dont think you have to go anywhere or pay anything. its fixed right? he was just givin you a warning that it is illegal to have no taillights. he could have given you a ticket though

Ray, when I was driving behind you the other night, I noticed your taillights were out and your headlights were on. I would just hold on to it and fix it. I don't think these cops around here will fuck with you again. If you need help fixing the lights....let me know. I forgot it was you when i posted.....I was thinking it sounded familiar! HAHA. It sounds like a fuse to me because your whole tailights were out. ttyl Ray.

yea, it was a fuse, i got it fixed the next day. I'm just hoping that i wont get a 50 $ fine and the car getting suspended. that's all.
