Roller Rockers

I'm just curious of everyone's opinion of running 1.7 ratio rockers with an E-cam. Currently I have 1.6 rockers, but I am looking for a little more. I'm hoping that increasing the lift from .498" to .528" via the rockers will help my upper end a little more. You guys think this would be worth the money?

It will also increase your duration. I run 1.7s with my B cam. It mainly moves your power band a little higher, not sure if would increase your torque.

What are you looking to accomplish, the big picture with the car?

I think it would help but be a lot of money for very little. If your not planning on using a power adder or getting more cubes. But you still want a good amount more power. You really need to start thinking about getting some parts so you can whind the shit out of that motor. If that was the case I'd go get some shaft-mounted rockers, cma, along with new valvetrain parts to operate in the 7,000+ rpm range.

My ultimate goal is to run 12's NA using an auto with ease. I know I won't get a lot of gain from the rockers, but every little bit will help. My Edelbrock heads and valvetrain are new, so they should hold up to higher rpms. I don't remember what it's rated at though. I would also have to get the computer altered to run past the rev limiter.

Well if you want to do what your saying with a 302 you going to need to rev it. What you need to change of the top of my head is, cam, solid roller lifters or anderson fords trick hydraulic 1's. Hydraulic roller lifters start to collapse at 6200rpm. Also shaft mounted(preferred) or a rocker girdle(pain), springs, along with titanium locks.
The springs, locks and shit that come with your Edlebrock heads are good but I don't think the will handle around 7,000rpm.
