Well im 17 years old, barely about to start a job but have around 2,000 saved up for a car. I was always addicted to import cars like hondas and acruas, but frankly they are played out and too many ricers mess it up for the true enthusiests, so anyways i was looking at 3 series beemers. Always thought they were nice, i found out u can get them for around 7gs... for like 95/96ish. My question is tho, i know they are expensive to repair but since they are good cars they shouldnt need repairs?? Anyways my dad said even the oil changes are expensive... is this true?? I mean you guys think im too young to afford a Beemer? Is it THAT expensive to repair? Holla backkkkk

I'm not sure what you are going to find for 7k. 96 328's are going for 12-14k now with 90k miles on them. You may be able to find a 92-94 318 for around that price.
Parts are expensive. I replaced the brakes (pads/rotors) on min and it was close to $1k. Oil changes are just like any other car provided you don't take it to the dealer. I pay about $60 for an oil change and reset the lights myself.
You should also call your insurance company and get a quote for what you are looking for as wel.

well im not just talking about breaks, im saying repairs in general. They look like 4 times as much pricey as honda repairs.. thats a lot.

ture but not to many cars are as cheap as a honda's. However you got to look at quilty too. Anyways though it sounds like Bmws not for you, at least not right now. Have you thought about Audi? their cheaper parts wise and quattro kicks ass:bigthumb: their also pretty fast for what they are and can be made fast. If your looking for cheap power go with the 1.8T quattro with just a chip you can make 200hp. something to think about.

Well for a car i was thinkin if i got a four door, it should be pimped out enough that i dont have to put a body kit, just rims, tint and a stereo and itll look good. But since the only car that works with is a BMW im guessin, then im goin for the sporty 2 doors. I dont want it to be superfast just you know quick enough im not going to race. I want good fuel economy. Repair cost is an issue to, and uhm ill probaly go for show.

LOL that would be good to know. With that budget you could get a 96/95 jetta maybe even newer if you look hard. They are all over the place. Just look for an older body style jetta, the old body style looks like this

That was a 98 the last year before they made the new body style. They also have all the things your looking for. And IMO they look just as cool as the newer jettas.
heres a 94
