Okay not gonna do this anytime soon, but will eventually.

My question, ok front seats not a problem but the back seats, seems like i might run into problems with that. If I were to put racing seats in the back, what kind of head clearence would there be for head room and top.

im not trying to criticize your decision here, but the idea of putting racing seats into a car is becuase they are lighter weight (well and they have better support) it would seem kind of silly to have a 4 passenger "race car"

oh no im not doing this because of racing at all, im doing it for looks and something unique.

if i can figure out how and if this can be done i have a lot of ideas

what does it look like? let me find a pic of my rear interior. There is only one thing sticking up and its what olds the OEM seats in there. I don't know how good the pic is to see where the seats were, but you should be able to see what im talking about. Other than that, its pretty flat back there

well damn i was wrong, kinda sad I roll around with this interior and I don't even remember what the hell it looks like. I just don't pay attention to it anymore. Alright so you will have to work around your gas tank stuff, and that spot I was talking about is hard to see, its right above the little black mark in the middle right above the spare tire. It sticks up about an inch but if your not gonna have the OEM seats in there, you can just cut it off.

would it be different in a 4-door though?

Most likely it is different. I dunno for sure though.

yea the 4dr interior is prolly alot different than that, ive seen the 4 race seat thing and i like it myself, never saw it in a 4th gen tho, start ripping shit apart and see what it looks like.

ha ha yea. i think im gonna wait untill i can afford to buy seats first before i tear into anything. Like i said tho i have pretty neat plans for this. running the center counsel all the way back to the break light, put cup holders in the back, and tweeters. put plexi glass in the sides and neon lights. Wouldnt it be nice.

i'm not sure how much this would help a sedan, but Honda Tuning magazine is going to be putting 4 racing seats into their 4th generation wagon eventually. You might get some ideas on making the brackets for them in that mag once they do that feature.

okay did this up pretty quick....

get reclinable seats for the back so i can decrease the gap between the back of the seat and the wood. and get non reclinable seats for the front so there would be room for people to sit in the back. Wood would get coverd with carpet.

Would it work?

well i'm sure you can make almost anything work, it is just a matter of time and money. although I am not sure about the height clearance. Hondas have "stadium seating" where the back seats sit higher than the front (i believe most cars do now anyway, it used to be a big thing) so I'm not sure exactly if a standard racing seat would fit. I would pull the back seat out for now, and take some good measurements and then use those when you are shopping for racing seats for the back.

as a fellow sedan owner i think this is a stupid idea ... just take the back seat out and get some nice seats in the front and be done with it.

yea well, something different and unique, plus if it doesnt work out, i can always sell the other seats
