No, it's an Evo VII.

i mean like some of the Evo 7 were LANCERS as stunts. Im pretty sure the movie wouldnt get 4-7 Evo 7s and use them as stunts, that would be ruthless

All the cars used were real Evolution VIIs

They also imported 6 Skylines for the film too; doesnt sound that bad [well, ok it does !] until you realise there's only 10 on US roads anyway :eek:

Isnt the DAMD kit meant to be for evo8's??

Cos they dont have an evo7 on the site, only the 8.
First time an evo8 actually looked good.:rolleyes:

I do know they spent ALOT of time getting some parts to fit [those rear light clusters were especially awkward apparently] because they were for a different spec car - I guess they must've been fitting 8 bits to a 7 :smile:


I seem to know alot because one of my mates has a book about all the main cars from the film, how they built them and filmed their stunts, & I've read all the interesting bits - OF COURSE one of those was the Evo bit :bigthumb:

from what i read, when they started filming, evo8's weren't released, and they already imported the 7's. By the time they were, they decided to slightly mod there 7's to look like 8's, though they don't too much.

Sounds reasonable enough, altho what I read didnt mention it; the VII and VIII only had different bodykits really anyway [from the outside at least] so it wouldnt be hard to do.

if u read the fast and the furious book they say that mitsubishi took the evo's out of the rally squad and gave it to the film people to make the movie. :bigthumb:

go to barns and noble or any book place, they will sell it there, it has a green evo on the cover. its says how and what each car has and how they made it, and just facts about things, its a good book, u guys should get it

yeah it covers both movies, fast and furious and 2 fast 2 furious. get it i have it here next to me

hey guys what do you think i want to make the body kit of my evo 7 from damd,i orderd the kit and now i am waiting to get it,what do you think about it,i say it's superb,i made some modifications at the engine to i changed the ecu and the mufler...and now i am waiting for the bod kit

I got to see up close the EVO from 2F2F at the Fukuoka Auto Salon this last weekend. I will say that the EVO VII that was parked next to it made it look like a piece of crap.

As soon as I get some pics posted from the event I'll put it up.

It made me sick when I saw how they hacked up the back end to put some dumb ass euro lights in them. And to get that damd body kit you would have to convert your lancer (non-evo or evo 8) to to evo7 headlights fenders and hood (i dont think the headlights are the same)

If you don't have a lancer this would be my choice (if i had the money) buy and Evo 7 from Evolution Imports. Because of regulations, you cannot import a RHD car except for the skyline. as before many people called them mirages to get them through. but evolution imports has lhd JDM EVO 7 and 8. but it will run ya about 35,000 before taxes to get a legal one.

ditto.......the damd body kit is a little cheesy lookin especially since it was in that one movie.

i'm a graphic designer....so i know a bit about visual appeal. i'm not a big fan of all kinds of vinyl all over any car. i think stickers detract from the physical lines of the car.

well...i guess they don't look completely bad. here's where i see the difference. just a personal opinion.

car with lots of stickers, crazy body kit, crazy headlights tail lights = fun and flashy car that you better have a lot of perfomance mods done to otherwise you're just going to look like a chump.

car with no vinyl, a conservative body kit, small visual mods like tinted windows maybe a few SMALL manufacturer decals, slightly lowered = sophisticated power that will make someone wonder how much power you really have under that hood.

just out of curiousity, does anyone else see it this way? i could be the only one lol
