do you need to reground your battery?

i read somewhere that if you're running 2 ga (or larger) power wire off your battery you also need to ground the battery with 2 ga (or larger). is that true?

It surely wouldn't hurt

also remember to reground your engine block to the chassis with a larger cable if you put in a bigger alternator.

not necessarily, but there have been claims that if you ground your engine block, you can free up a few extra horses.. I've read a few reviews, on kits that are sold, and most had nothing but positive to say about them.

well at some point, i plan on grounding my car. i read articles about those ground kits. weird stuff. who woulda thought that ground cables would add like 5 hp... so anyway, i ordered the 2 age ground cable, just for reference.

a larger ground and power cable from the alternator will let current (power) run thru them more easily - thus making the alternator work a little less. Remember, the alternator DOES sap a little HP from the engine to run it.
