Victorian Skyline Owners

hi guys im just wondering if there are any of you r33 gts-t owners out there in victoria who are on there P's? im considering getting a r33 but am a bit wary of getting caught being over the power-weight ratio? anyone had an encounters with this or anything else to do with it?

I'm well off my Ps (actually, never had to have them :D ), so it doesn't affect me one way or the other.

But it appears that the authorities don't care. After seeing a P-plater driving (I'm pretty certain) a R33 GTR, I emailed to VicRoads about how they enforce this. Their reply - cut & paste the relevant page off their web site :mad: . I know it was a cut & paste, coz it was word for word the same as their website, right down to the same typo in it :rolleyes:

I emailed the same question to the Victoria Police - they have yet to respond, that was nearly 2 months ago :mad:

The GTSt would be borderline on the P/W ratio anyway - I think it comes in a bit over (based on 1400kg, it should not exceed 175kw).

yeh my bro did the same thing. Pretty much they just say if its on the list you can get done for it. If not, if you drive like a dickhead you may get into shit if they decide to test your car. This is what the police said anyway!! hehe
so you think it will be fine for me to drive one...i mean i have seen TONS of p-platers driving em, and i would imagine they all have sports exhausts and aftermarket intercoolers etc...

i have an R33 gts-t, and am from mildura (top of victoria)
I live across the road from the cop shop. One day two cops came over and asked for me, and asked to see my car. I thought i was in sh**. But when i showed em, they said "its bloody sexy as!!!!" and wanted a sit in it, and for me to start it up for them. All cops are rev heads anyway, its the bad ones u gotta watch out for.
And it probly helped that my dad is their doctor too :D :D

hehe true that. ethan i am from melbourne.. i have tons and tons of drivers with em i spose its just if you get a cunt cop or not who is willing to take your car in and stuff...!!!

Just today on the way to work a highway patrol vx ss was sitting at the lights waiting to turn and when they saw me drive by they were both staring at me. when the lights changed i saw them gun it in my rear mirror but luckyly i pulled in the security work carpark just in time, and they cant get in there without a electronic pass!!

in Tassie where I live we don't have a power-weight ratio for what car we can drive when we get our P's as soon as you get your P's we can drive any car we like.
