Where To Find Sentra Engine

Ok everyone, I'm doing a favor for a friend. He needs to know where to find a replacement engine for his '87 Sentra Hatch. He's looking for a 1.6L Throttle Body, Fuel Injected, FWD, Manual Shift. That's all I know or what I was given, :dunno: so feel free to ask me any question and I'll relay it to him. He's restoring this vehicle for his young son, as his first car, but still open for possible performance upgrade. Maybe any of you Sentra expert out there might recommend another engine swap option. Already tried local junkyard, eBay and web search engine with no luck. Any input will be appreciated.

You can find a used sr20 in good condition for around 300, then look for a 5-spd from a early-mid 90's sentra/200sx se-r. You could get a very reliable engine and tranny combo for around 500 plus misc parts such as an ecu, etc. I know it has more power than the ga16 he's looking at, but it might be a viable option

Not so familiar with Nissan engine swap, not sure if it's as easy as Honda. Is the SR20 a direct bolt on replacement/upgrade for the GA16? Any modification involve...like engine mounting and so on?

It would require a new ecu and mounts. If he's getting this at a wrecking yard those would be easy enough to come by, the only hard part would be the wiring and mounting the mounts in the right spots. Some of those links I gave have the ga16 too I believe, so that's still an option if he wants.
