Can anyone provide some instructions on how to remove the PCM. I found an illustration but when I looked through the glove box there are other things in front of the PCM.

Btw, does this years' PCM have a chip(s) that has to be transferred or does it have to be reprogrammed? Lastly, will I need to get ahold of a GM Tech 2 if it does have to be reprogrammed or will another scan tool work?
Thank you in advance.

It's easier if you take the few minutes to remove the glove box door. The photo shows what had to be disconnected to remove the PCM on my '95:

Blue,
Great photo, let's hope I can get that far :banghead:. How is the PCM attached to the firewall? Are there any bolts or screws? I was only able to feel a clip on the top portion and was curious if it just "snaps in"?
Thank you in advance.

Picture looks like the old "red, white and blue" PCM......I think this is the one that you just transfer the PROM....I think the PCM slides out of the plastic holder....just bend back the tabs at the bottom, and the PCM sides down....

T-II,
Just an FYI, this one is the enhanced ECM (sometimes colloquially called "OBD-1½") and is has an EEPROM for main RAM without any of the old style back resistor DIPs for limp mode.
