removing decal lines

yeah its back up! :biggrin:

So i had a decal on my rear window, and cause it was just getting ugly and too big i took part of it off. Now i have lines of where the decal used to be, how can i get rid of these?

A product that has worked very well for me in the past is called "Goof off". It is a petroleum based solvent (I believe) and you simply wipe it on the decal lines, and wipe it off, then rinse the applied area with water. Any sort of mild solvent, however, should work, but before using it, try it in an inconspicuos spot (just in case it reacts badly for some reason).

actually its "goo gone" get it at walmart or Auto Zone or Lowes. Really works great...

00 or 000 steel wool with glass cleaner
followed by
glass polish or chrome/glass polish

good stuff, I used it too get alotta crap off my car and various other areas...great stuff and only like $3 a bottle

Not that it really matters but there is also a product called goof off, although it is the same as goo gone. Just thought I would defend myself, but goo gone works just as well (it is the same stuff).

for anything on the windows you can also use a flat razorblade, after i use that to scrape a decal off, then use it to clean up all of the sticky stuff too. same with hard to get off bugs, etc. but only on glass, and keep it flat so you don't knick the glass. works well for me.

I've always used RUBBING alcohol for that kind of stuff.

A few were already suggested...first suggestion is the above mentioned flat razor blade. If you don't like this, you can use adhesivw remover or 000 stell wool and glass cleaner.

I'd say carefully use the flat razor, it works prefectly. Hold it at a 45 degree angle when you scrap it lightly accross the glass.
