hey guys, first off just wanted to say whats up. I just ordered a Tamiya R33 skyline and will begin it when it arrives. I'm not new at models, just new here.
Couple questions i do have though, i've noticed that tamiya models do not come with motors, but have great fitment. Where do you guys buy just engines for your cars? Is there a specific site, or are they hard to find. I would also like to find a set of R34 wheels for this project.

Nobody makes the R33 engine. But you coud do a conversion with the R32 engine and put it in the R33. (not easy) A couple of people on this board have put the R32 engine in the R34, haven't seen it done with the R33 though.
Although People make engine for other kit's that do not come with engines.
I think I've seen someone here had a scooby with an engine.
i also know that there is an S2000 engine, although expensive.
You'll have to get the R33 wheels from the R34 kit.

Just a minor correction and an awesome link. Some Tamiya kits do come with engines... see the following link for a full listing of their kits and a statement of whether they have one or not (apparently this may be wrong in some cases). http://italianhorses.net/tamiya.htm

couple other questions, how do you guys lower your model cars?
what would be the easiest way to try and tint the windows?
how would you guys pull off making a real looking N1 type exuast?
I want this to look as real as possible, down to the detail, for the exuast i thought about using some sort of small copper piping and cromeing it, the have a larger pipe for the muffler effect.
tell me what you think and if you have any suggestions or other things i should try

also, i just remembered, i want to do working lights, i saw somebody on here that was going to do it with a supra, and was wondering how, just make a new type housing or modify what is there and place LED's behind, thats what it seems like to me. I think that would be a great idea and not to terribly hard to do.
