It depends on which version you want to build.
The model made by Tamiya is a 2001 version of the Focus. Francois Duval drove it during some of the rallies of the 2002 WRC season.
He also drove a Ford Puma 1600 that year.

For exterior pictures you might want to take a look at:

Now, for Markko Märtin it's a whole other story. Markko also drove different cars that season. One of them was with the RS livery. But, it had a 2002 specification with some of the following differences:
roof air intake (larger)
hood (other airintakes)
rollcage (2002 version)
front grille (rs logo instead of ford logo)

For the interior of the 2002 version I made a page with some pictures you can use to create a proper rollcage: http://httpd.chello.nl/m.kleijer/ford

Some cool pictures there thanks Marco. Another difference, probably the biggest one is the headlights. I just recently noticed that the Tamiya kit is wrong even for a 2001 WRC :frown: I was thinking that maybe some 206 headlights could be modified to suit.

I can't count how many times I have said that the headlights are wrong.
For the 2001 car the 2001 Focus WRC kit is of, they aren't wrong, but for the later car they are and for the 2002 car they are definitely wrong.
But there are other differences that the Tamiya kit is incorrect on too, most of which I tried to correct on my model.

I don't know how you would modify the 206 headlight, it's quite different in my opinion.

Just thinking out loud Ray, the 206 lights at least have the right number of reflectors, so it's a start!

Don't know if there is a hard and fast cutoff date for the change. Now that I think about it I seem to recall a change on one of the tarmac rallies in late 2001 :dunno:

I will be using a Revell (reboxed Hasegawa) kit - for the wheels, mostly, and will probably get a Heller 2002 kit for the hood and (hopefully) the headlights. Although I have absolutely no idea if the Heller kit is correct in these areas. I will let you all know when I take a look at it.

Just did a bit of reasearch and the change to the new light clusters happened for San Remo 2001. In case any body else cared :bloated:
