havent finnished yet, but im very happy, even before i opened the kit :D

its an AMT 70 1/2 Baldwin Motion Camaro
http://www2.gpmd.com/image/a/amts0085.jpg

i have to tell you, the quality is nothing close to tamiya :frown: , hard to fit stuff together :frown: , but i cant wait until is done :D
in the original pic, the car has that white triangle coming from the back, mine will be all black, or maybe blue and white strippes :D

here is a pic//
took some pics of the interior, but theres not much detail to show.
i'll post pics when is done

any1 else has this kit, and care to post pics?
thanks

ps. any tips on wires?
i want to put some spark plug wires from the distributor to the just above the headers, duhh:D

I did the same kit a few months back and the result is just gorgeous. Do you plan on adding the Baldwin Motion stripes? I can't believe they weren't included in the kit.

I did one of these a while back, it was silver with a black stripe running over it from the hood bulge. shameful paintjob and a chassis stuck to the body with bluetack doesn't equal good. I plan on buying another one soon! post some pics of yours when it's finished too.

every time i go to the hobby store, i am always tempted to pick up this kit.... i might just end up doing so now :)

but i'm a little disappointed here... there are no stripes included in this kit!? what are they thinking marketing it as a baldwin motion camaro and not including the stripes? anyway, looking forwards to your progress.

Are you serious?!? Well, looks like another negative for AMT.
BTW, nice engine!

Wire up small block.. its not a big block like in the Baldwin Motion Camaro.. but its still a badass 350

The AMT B/M kit is pretty decent. Not a Tamiya, but not garbage by any stretch. The lack of decals is a stupid oversight.

I built my red one from a predecorated version sold at Wal Mart. All parts were painted and the kit retailed for under $9.00! I added more paint detailing inside and under the hood, and applied foil chrome trim over the silver painted trim. The nice thing about the red one is the white graphics were already applied. I had to paint the taillight area white, and touch up the rear pan. It was a fun build. I want to do one w/more detail, that I paint the graphics, so this is one I built to learn the kit. The only fit problems I remember are the headers to the side pipes. They are a bit fiddly to align properly.

The following model is a fully-built version sold by AMT. It's okay, but a bit rough in a few areas. It's from their "Masterpiece" series. I have since fixed the horrible ride height-the front end of the car sat WAY too high! I think the Chinese lady at the AMT factory who built this one was a bit tired that day...

did you painted the window trim silver or crome, i dont know how to make it look like crome :frown:

the only thing left to do is paint the boddy, and it does not include the stripes  i didnt plant on put in stripes anyways, only one color, or the stripes from front to back, but now i changed my mind and will be all one color, metalic black :D

Here is my `70 Z28. It`s not the Baldwin Motion kit, but I am sure they share alot of parts.

For your wires, use a pin vise and a .020" (i think) drill bit, and the appropriate diameter wire.
I`m not sure how many people know how fast those Baldwin Motion cars were. According to a book I have, the `69 Baldwin Motion Camaro was over 600hp, ran 11 sec quarter miles at 125mph, and according to the author were designed simply to "scare the **** out" of people! :bigthumb: :spit:

I picked up that 70 1/2 Baldwin Camaro this weekend at AC Moore. They had a 20% off sale going on kits and I wasn't paying full price for an AMT (quality issues as you all know). I have different plans for this, maybe using a different powerplant and saving that 454ci for something else. I'll try and post progress pics once I get underway.

Why not baremetal foil the trim? It'll cost about the same as a can of chrome spraypaint. :bigthumb:

what??? :eek7:

never done that :icon16:

well, bad news now!!!

i broke the rear axle, well, i notice that the rear axel was out of place when i tried to put the tires on. they were too far back.. so i tried to fix it, one side came out fine, the other, well the piece broke :frown:

i'll keep working, and see how it comes out, worst case, i can glue it together, and leave that tire out, or i can jst buy another kit, and get that part, tat way i have another engine. for 10 bucks, thats a great deal :icon16:
