Alright, so I finally found a car that was a really good deal and that I liked(thanks to all those guys who always helped me out by giving me info and advice). I picked her up for $4200 from a dude who tunes many Foxbody stangs. I'm very happy with her, and have only logged around 20 miles so far.
Here's the stats:
1992 LX 5.0 Hatch
about 120k miles
5 spd
3.73 gears
flowmaster mufflers with turndowns
here's some pics(dial up users suffer!), thanks to Redneck:

DAMN, wonderful purchase. Probably want to get ready to replace some basic things(if the previous owner didn't just do them) since it's @ 120k, but then get ready to go oh so fast! Excellent catch, that's one hell of a car:bigthumb: Have any goFast plans formulated yet?

Excellent find:bigthumb: .
That car was obviously loved by its previous owner. Now do the bolt-ons, get a 150-shot and make us LS1ers say WTF!

So, do you want the Steeda catalog now or later? :icesangel
Seriously, those Fox-body 'stangs can be built to corner pretty well. Build it for autocross. C'mon. Dodge cones instead of tripping lights.
It's a good buy. Plenty of performance for your dollar. Besides, you can drive it while you save up for your vintage sportscar.:naughty:

i've sat in a modded one of those. they pulled pretty well all the up to around 6 grand lolz. still pretty sweet ride and with a few simple mods, those things can actually handle too. congrats.

I wouldn't say they can handle that great..... I seen a video of one against a TSI AWD... the Talon did its high speed turn and accelerated off about 10-15 car lengths before the mustang completed its turn LOL....... both were stock..... well the mustang one was a Police cruiser with a skilled cop driving it even.
and I don't even consider DSM AWD's to handle THAT good.

In Octagon's defense, he said they can be built to handle:tongue:...
Good job on the car, Ninja!
When I have spent as much as you (SR20DET swap), I'll drive down to Cali and see what your car can do...hopefully, Redneck's Nova'd be running by then....

In the Last two weeks i've spent over $900 on car parts... Everything gets pieced together soon...
The Sleeper is waking up... and she's Grumpy.:cya:

how do you like it soo far? esp compared to the corolla and the mpv:iceslolan anyways i've sat in a few of those that are slightly modded. you can rreally feel the torque downlow on those things, too bad they have almost no highend. but it should be light years faster then the old cars that you use to drive to once again, congrats.

Hey guys, thanks for all the great comments. I am quite fortunate to find such a clean car. The car looks extra clean because of that new paint job.. haha.. the inside is pretty dirty, but she's getting cleaned up ever so slowly. I'm currently still replacing a few worn parts and making sure she's running strong before I start with the performance.
Plans for now... My friends use to have a foxbody SCCA road race car, and have quite a few parts left over that they're willing to practically give away. I think they've found a full set of struts, rear shocks, saleen(?) front springs, camber plates or adjsuters or whatever, an aluminum radiator, and a few brake parts. After all that suspension work, I'll probaly take Cbass' advice and relocated the battery. Then it'll be off to a new trick exhaust that my friend and I plan on doing ourselves(I dont like the flowmasters with turndowns). After that will be a cold air intake and some shorty headers. Even those plans seem pretty distant, so no telling what the major mods will be later.... I drive this car daily( and 20 miles one way to school and my friends), so I can't have this car out for too long.
Danno: haha, I'd love to surprise a few LS1's, but I doubt I'd go with the laughing gas... hehe.. perhaps some F/I?
sr20detpower: I was actually first dissapointed at the car's handling when I first got her.... But then I discovered the front left sway bar mount was completely broken. Now that it's welded up, she handle's ok... I think it's just those cheap ass 225 width Pep Boys specials holding her back.f
Carnutt: I can't wait to meet up with you and Red, then later see the taillights of a Nova and a SE-R:tongue: Should still be fun though! haha..
Tat: the difference between my previous rides and this new baby is freaking night and day. I love torque... going up hills in 5th gear at 1400rpm. Fun:biggrin:

Well, if you ask me, the best idea is a 347 stroker kit with a steel crank, about $1500, and a pair of T35s, another $1200, EEC tuner for $400, bigger injectors and MAF, custom exhaust and turbo headers, $600...
600 rwhp on pump gas, with a lot more potential left in the beast :D Still get good mileage too.:bigthumb:
That's how I'd go, if I wanted to build a 5.0 in a Fox body... Otherwise I'd go naturally aspirated in an RX7 ;)
