I'm talking, one that pulled up to you, revved the engine and caused you to nearly collapse from complete bliss and envy. You know what I'm talking about:iceslolan So, c'mon and share what car produced the most perfect engine noise to you. Or if you haven't heard it in person, but know that it sounds damn near perfect, then please share.

There's guy that lives near me with a newer modded Camaro Z28. That thing sounds so awesome :bigthumb:

I have a sound clip of a Ferrari 250 GTO. Nothing in person has come close to it except for maybe a 600 class sportbike.:D

My friends ex- Z28 was very nice. Also, I've heard a Toyota Supra that sounded more like a domestic with a deep rumble instead of the pissed off weed-eater sound, it was sweet.

Vintage Saab 96 - there are few things better than the sound of a V-4 engine under load, except perhaps a tripple carbed slant 3 2-stroke!

my grand prix will blow your ears out. this thing has a tone like no other V-6 and makes more noise than any Z28.

Either my step dad's 71' Z-28 or the F40 I saw at Italian week, last week. Both are beasty but I was shocked at the shear sexiness of an F40's sound.

The sound my VW made when there was a hole in the muffler so I just took it off for a week and just used the header and a baffle... I got a lot of funny looks...

other than that... I can't think of any... I am deprived boy where people with nice cars don't let me come close.

Quite a few :)

A "slightly" modified '70 Corvette 454, a '95 850Ci, a bi-turboed 4.2L V8 powered Audi RS6 and a 2.5L TDi powered Volkswagen Caravelle that mr. Hans Dahlback had some fun with :D

Further I have a cd with recorded sound from a V16 BRM race car :sunglasse

Ferrari 333SP for the classic Ferrari V12 scream and Porsche 962. I love the turbo wastegate chirp of a high pressure turbo when braking and downshifting.

I have to agree with the RS6 engine as among the best of the current engine sounds.

Ferrari Enzo starting up and revved up to the limiter. There were about 20 people there and every single one of them jumped back from the sound.

I don't know - I was behind a Ferrari today and it sounded alot like a street-sweeper.

the 550 at full throttle in a tunnel is nice but nowhere near the sound that the Enzo makes.

I would say the sound of an RB26DETT- but I've heard it too much- and it is no longer intimidating- I'll probably say the Ferrari 550 Maranello moving off from the lights at 6000 odd rpm

Few posts back, i'll agree on the grand prix, my car makes an awesome rev, when the mufflers not rattling. Other than that '69 camaro, old 34 chevy with a truley awesome v-8. :bigthumb:

Any big capacity V12 revving through the gearbox, as long as it is fittted with a 'sports' exhaust. Can't beat it.

yesterday I was able to hear a 1967 Corvette L88 engine (a 427 ci, or 7L) on a test stand. I was standing right next to it...the straight pipes make it VERY loud. I couldn't hear a thing for a few seconds afterword. the only thing that comes close is the roar of the Prodrive Ferrari 550 at 8000+ rpm

Its a Tie

My Dad's completely rebuilt 1969 Mustang Mach1 with a fully built 351, and open pipes :)

and

The Dodge Viper that blew past me on the highway, I was doing 60, he was from the way it sounded, at wide open throttle.

i would have to say a 2001 Mustang that was built for drag racing but is still street legal. or a 1972 Corvette 454.

I was behind a 550 barchetta in a tunnel when it downshifted to like 3rd when we already doing 100+ mph.. it was absolutely amazing. I cloud of smoke and it was gone. Probably pissed because I came up so close.. Than my friend has a 750 hp toyota supra with a t-88 single turbo conversion. He's pushin' like 40 lbs of boost. Its pretty nice, especially at full throttle.

Diablo, stock R34 GT-R and a tuned R34 GT-R (both V Spec IIs). Oh, and the bikes that constantly go past my house   - cruiser bikes and sports bikes. I've got a highly regarded bike next to my house, one road away, but as I am not into bikes, I don't know which one

Cars all the way for me :loser:

My friends 78 Trans Am he had in high school. It had a pretty stout 400 in it. Sounded awesome. Can't beat header noise, cam lope, and some deep exhaust. Another good one is a Camaro that is a local racer it has a smallblock with one chamber flowmasters sounds real good.

Being a muscle car man, nothing sounds better to me than a V8 with 2 1 7/8 inch headers, 2 1/4 inch exhaust that splits into two 2 inch, then goes to 3 1/2 inch tips, that thing crackles unbelievbley easy, it's so awesome, as well as other V-8's, the new Hemi's are awesome too. And my dad's 1992 Dyna Low rider with 2 inch Vance and Hines Long shots, without the baffles in them, then he has a more aggressive cam where the exhuast duration is much different than stock, that thing redlines at 5 grand, and I revved it to 3 grand and my ears popped, they didnt go back to normal for about an hour, and my friend who was 10 feet from it ran away from it and started yelling at me for it, you have to wear ear plugs when riding it.

my car with the right exhaust and intake sounds MEAN. It has a pretty wicked V-6 and was actually voted one of the best sounding stock engines behind a Porsche and Aston Martin.

A V-8 engine with 180° headers sound pretty good. A lot of circle track cars use them. A high revving V-8 with a good set of headers leading into a large 3 or 3 1/2 SINGLE exhaust pipe with a big flowmaster or superflow muffler sounds similar. Both have an exotic high-pitched sound quality.

6 cylinder Boxer engines between 4000 and 7000 RPMs sound great as well.

I'm not a big fan of V-6, I-4 or I-5 engine sounds.

My 73 SD-455 Trans Am. Cam, round port exhaust manifolds into 2.5 pipes. through dynomax muffs.
I ain't kidding, I would get wood when I first got it and idled.
Would run 12's in the 1320.

My best friend's got a pretty mean sounding '92 Camaro RS, but it doesn't hold a candle to my uncle's '67 Plymouth Belvedere GTX. This thing's got a 440 in it, and it had no mufflers the first time I heard it...it's enough to get my adrenaline pumping just -thinking- about it!

The best motor that I've heard is a 572 Chevy with a ton of mods. That thing had to have made at least like 1000hp and it was in a truck. The truck is my dad's friends, so I get to see it everyday. I just love that deep American muscle sound. :grinyes:

Omg, I just heard a turbo Ferrari F50 (No, not in real life. I downloaded a video of if from Kazaa.) My heart nearly ceased when I heard that thing. I thought it was gonna lift off of the ground or something when it accelerated. You have to see it if you have kazaa (Just type in Ferrari F50, and look for Ferrari F50 turbo or something along those lines.) I would post the video for you guys but I don't know how.

The best sounds I think, are my next door neighbor's 1970 Chevy Corvette Stingray, his Ferrari F355 Berlinetta, and BMW's 2001 7-Series V12's. Also What I really liked was the sound of a Ducati bike passing by on the highway. :grinyes:

I got a new one for ya, a modified from tractor pulls, 3-4 V-8's on there, when your 50 feet away and it's at 9 grand with the three of them, and you can't hear yourself scream, it may damage my ears but I love it, when you can feel those things at full throttle from 50 feet away, oh man. Also there was a 2309 cubic inch V-12 rolls royce, holy crap.

-my neighbor's 2002 Ferrari 360 Spyder...this thing has a blood curdling 8000 rpm...it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end

-and his 2001 corvette convertible (this thing has a S/C'd 7.0 liter LS-1 racing engine under the hood and a borla cat-back)

-idk who owns it but iv seen it around, an old nova ss wit a S/C'd 572 big block wit straight headers
