What car?

Ok i need some advice for a used car. I'm looking in the $4000-$9000, but somewhere in the middle of that is more resonable. Anyways, i'm not quite sure what im looking for. A family car with tons of room ect is not necessary, i know that. I'm looking for a faster, punchy car that will be fun to drive and also looks good. I've been on autobytel.com etc, and researched things, and If i could have any car, within reason for my liking right now, i would get a Toyota Celica(new version), but that still looks on the upside. So please advise me to some cars in this category. Oh and i was looking into a Mitsubishi Eclpise, but after driving one, it was too cramped; the celica was not though:)
