Im sure ppl have tried this but i havent heard of no one doing it so i will ask. Im pretty sure ppl have converted the body looks but wut about the engine? I was thinkin of gettin a LOW base model "used" Mirage, i think its the old ones, but convert the engine wit the Eclipse GS-T and convert the body to one of the Evos, but i like the Evo 6 the best, im pretty sure it'll cost just around the Evo 8, thats y im thinkin IF it will work, plz reply to see if this is even possible? Thanks:bigthumb:

A few months ago on ebay. An Evo was posted up. They took the Body of a Mirage to get it to RHD and it had all Specs of an Evo.

anything is possible if you have the money
although here in puerto rico they always do that...they take a cheap ass mirage and convert it into a lancer...although only some of them have the engine problem is almost everyone does that...which makes it really shitty because you get tired of seeing the same shit...
all you need is the green and everything will be fine...

Body is the easy part. Chassis rigidity is impossible to duplicate without countless hundreds of spot and seam welds. The AWD drivetrain is extremely difficult and expensive. It requires removal of floorpans and rewelding in the Evo's and all sorts of fun shit. The FWD is possible, but then well...it's not very near Evo. :bloated:
Anyway, it's doable, and it's been done, but expect it to be extremely costly. TAD Motorsports has been rumored to have done a few in the past I believe, but stopped doing them (I believe due to difficulty and cost).

Try the search button at the top, I made a big post on doing this some months ago.
It has been done several times in Aussie, either a GSR or early EVO underbody has been stiched into a Lance Coupe, or Mirage body.
But the cost is extreme, unless you are a panel beater yourself, and of course the car will never have anything like the performance of a genunine EVO.
