Engine specs for gen3 integras and piston help

gen 2 integras have 9.0:1 compression ratio right? aftermarket pistons are a little expensive so i thought i might buy some pistons for a gen3 LS, GS-R, or Type R. i heard that every .5:1 compression ratio increase is 8-10 horsepower so i wanted to do that. what is the compression ratio for the LS, GS-R, and Type R generation 3 integras. also would those pistons fit in my b18a?

if those dont fit and i were to buy aftermarket pistons what octane would i have to run for the following compression ratios?

9.0:1

11.5:1

Stock CR for a B18A1 or B18B1 is 9.2:1. A GSR is 10:1, and type R is 10.6:1.
You can run up to about 11:1 compression on 93 octane. 10.5:1 is safer if you don't want to get into serious tuning and detenation problems. With up to 9.5:1 you should be able to run regular, then from 9.5 to 10 you should run mid grade 89 octane. More than 10 and you should run super 91 or 93 octane.

You seem like you know your shit. I didn't even know you could change pistons like that. What kind of power gains do you think you'd get if you threw GSR pistons in an LS?

Whoa! I never said anything about exchanging the pistons. I don't think you can. The B18C has a different stroke, and also different rods so you probably cannot swap them. Also, i do know this, it will not work cuz of the valve reliefs are in different spots. I was only talking about the different CR's you can use with certain octane, sorry for the confusion - my bad.:smile:

where i live the only stuff available at the pumps is 87, 89, and 91 octane, whats the highest c/r i could run?

10.5:1 is still OK.:smile:
