Pepboys is telling me this is a torque converter solenoid problem PO703. On a earlier engine light check, I was told it was the brake lights, but they were working fine. After looking up the code myself, it said it was a brake light switch stuck open or shut? What is the truth? If anyone can tell me, please let me know. I can disconnet the battery and clear the code, but it will come back. I would really appreciate your ideas.

The PCM monitors changes in input voltage from the brake switch. If the PCM does not detect PCM terminal 1AU voltage changes while alternately accelerating and decelerating 8 times, the PCM determines that brake switch circuit has malfunctioned.

• Brake switch malfunction
• Poor connection of brake switch connector or PCM connector
• Short to power supply in wiring harness between brake switch terminal D and PCM connector terminal 1AU
• Open circuit in wiring harness between brake switch terminal D and PCM connector terminal 1AU
• Open circuit in wiring harness between battery positive terminal and brake switch terminal A
• PCM malfunction
