Well, I knew nothing lasts forever, but why does it have to be so expensive? The transmission in my trusty old 1998rodeo started acting up last week so I took it to a transmission shop. The bad news?I can spend $3128.00 for a complete overhaul using all new parts or $2500.00 using remanufactured parts. The problem was there was no fluid returning fron the radiator, so it cooked the converter, pump and all the sprags, bands &disks. 141K without a problem,so I guess it doesn't owe me anything. I guess I'll go for the $2500.00 repair and trade it in on a new p/u truck. All I can say is keep that fluid and filter changed, so you don't get bit like me. What really frosts my behind is that just two weeks ago I changed the fluid and filter, and everything looked good. Why so expensive? Easy, It's the same trans used by BMW.I tried to explain that mine is not a BMW. They didn't seem to care. Thanks for letting me rant.:banghead:

I would get a 2nd opinion if possible. Did the A/T light come on? What kind of problems were you noticing?

I live in your area and usually go to Southern Auto Works. Jimmy the owner is a certified Isuzu tech. He might be able to get you a deal on a tranny.
