another WIP of mine here, i was inspired to start it by another similar build going on here at the moment :cool:

this one will be a replica of a group A racer that was raced here in australia in the 80's

this is based on an old fujimi kit that isnt very well detailed, so ive just been making things like the wheel arches, as it had none. also the suspention and brakes needed some work.
the rear had no suspension detal and there were no brakes front or back.

i had a few bits and pieces lying around that fit pefectly, like the rear suspension /brakes from a silvia kit for the rear.

step 1;
chassis with my scratch build wheel arches

step 2;
had to make the ID of the brakes to match the existing metal axle.
glued a bit of PS and drilled new hole.

step 3;
drill hole at top of wheel arch and fitted to chassis, centre of brake disk lined up perfectly to axle. simply a fluke!

step 4;
add suspension arm, i wasnt after anything totally correct or looks spectacular, just does the job.

step 5;
add 'sway bar' this is mainly to tie my suspension together but adds a little bit of detail as well

this is all that i scratch build seperated from chassis.

Thanks
The wheel arches were done with 0.5-0.75mm styrene that I curved by rolling around a pen! Worked well...

After doing all this I did a dry run and notices the body sits too high at the back and too low at the front so I've been playing with the ride Height.
I've fixed the back and in the process of doing the front.
I worked out 2 very simple solutions so I'll post pictures in the next day or so.
