alright guys.. i know this might sound pathetic. but hear comes my sad plee for help
i have had my eclipse for 3 years now.. i've did (and am still doing) heavy body mods to my car..
the thing is that i want to make this the tottal package, which means that i need to do the engine up also.. this is where the problems come in. i know the basic things about the engine but what i need is some help with is deciding what kinda gauges to get, ecu, ect... i am basically dumb when it comes to engines, but i want this all to change.. i have read till my head is ready to explode, but it's just not getting me anywhere. what i really need is someone in the area to help me out. or any one that is willing to talk to me on aim or something like that.. i am located in streetsboro ohio, and am willing to drive almoast anywhere in the area to be able to get the info that i need.. thanks for any help that you guys can give me..... jason

alrighty then lets begin class
well fist off you have a 4g63t motor in your eclipse same as the ones found on the evo's and some turbo galants.. these motors are capible of alot of hp wiht simple boltons.. and these motors cant take alot of boost also without rebuilding the internals..
what parts you should get and my "estimated power" you shold make
3' down pipe (apex-i, greedy)
2 1\2 - 3' exaust (hks hiper or apex-i n1)
intake like a k&n or hks filter
a intercooler (greedy, apex-i )
a b.o.v. a cheap way to go is get one from a 1st gen eclipse but you can also get a hks ssqv or if u want a real loud one get the turbonetics bov
next is your fuel system with the add air u need more fuel also
get a higher flowing fuel pump like a 255lb one
if you want you can upgraded the injectors form the 450stockers (i think) to about 550 600 or 750 if you like to buy gas.
also a fuel regulator is also helpful..
now u got more air and fuel now wat?
you get something to manage all of it and some gagues to montor it all..
for engin managment get a apex-i afc it controols the air fuel mixture and also works as a boost controller.. also you need a turbo timer for the turbo to cool off.. as for gauges you dont need millions of gauges jus three BOOST AIR\FUEL AND another 1 of your choice to fill the 3 pod gauge cluster.. that should be enough..
lets not forget about cooling this bad boy.. you need a free flowing raditor like 1 from fulidline and maybe some fal fans.. and i recomond a oil cooler also and maybe a oil catch can..
now for the estimated power if you do all those mods and tune is suscessfully and run 16+psi you can make over 315@wheels not to bad..
now if you want to go more in depth get a big 16g or 20g turbo like a greedy td-06 or sumthin.. then i would start working on internals like the head work cams, valve springs, ect.. and i qouls qork qork thw bottom end

wow... thanks alot.. that was the simpelist to understand article that i have ever read..
i probably should have let you in on more details of what i already have and what the car is all about.. lets start with what this is car is all about... first off it's a 97gst.. for the last couple of years i have went into massive body mods.. so with that said, this is gunna be a complete show car. i know what your thinking, why didin't you just do this to a rs, or some other eclipse.. we are going for a complete show car, and i personally felt that we whould get more respect for what we have done and the effort that we have put in if we were doing it to a turbo. so as for the engine, i want to build it up, but i do not want to get into the internals (injectors, heads, ect...). i know pretty much what parts are out there for our car, i just don't know which one's to get..

sorry about all the pics... mods include.. complete shaved rain gutters, handles. modeld body kit. frenched attenna. fender flares. z3's. complete tail light conversion. suicide doors (and i just picked up some team prototype, door armors). relocated sparco gas door. the stance on the car is provided by a set of blow jax air cilinders. when fully compresed there's about a half a inch under the car..

How much does it cost to mold ur body and for the fender flares?

on an average to get these kinda mods done, your looking at about 10-16g. just to have your body kit molded your probably gunna be paying around 3-4g and to have flares put on. well that all depends on the fitmint. it shouldn't be more than a grand.. i got real lucky. the guy that i have doing my mods is only charging me 3,100$ for everything.. before i took it to him, i took it to some other shop's and they all priced me around 10-20g. the reason that im getting it done so cheap is cuzz 1. he's a pretty good friend of the family 2. he's pretty much doing it for advertisment for his shop. 3. it was an agreement that it was gunna take a while for him to complete. he mainly deals with insurance jobs, so those have to come first. the suicide doors took him 6 mounths alone.

ok as for the fmic is go greedy and for the b.o.v go greedy and for the 16g td-06 greedy makes that also.. you dodnt really need a fuel rail i say your better off getting some 550cc injectors and a upgraded fuel pump.. all you need is a BOOST AND AIR\FUEL GAUGE.. but if you want all of them itz more money you are spending.. ans yes get the super afc with the data logger.. it helps alot but if you dont get it your engine will not blow up.. also with the s-afc it will be good to know some one who is familar with the deice because it is very very complicated.. but if used propely you can gain some serious hp.. btw dont boost more then 16psi on pump gass of you dont have the proper fuel managment.. 16psi on a gs-t is good and safe.. and if you want you can get some new plugs and wires..
