I don't post here very often but I found this kit at a flea market. Got the motor mostly together for aluminum paint and the trans for gun metal. I can't believe how big these parts are. This is my first big scale model, kind of amazed.

Like I said amazed at the size.
Decals and untouched tubes, springs, and screws.

Finished dimensions are 13.25" by 6". Hope I don't run out of glue and paint...lol

Hi

Look for aftermarket decals for the kit. Those decals are more or less original issue quality - meaning prone to cracking and very translucent.

Here is a link to some good replacement decals. use the drop down list at the bottom to make sure you order a 1/12 scale set. http://www.indycals.net/decals/f1/76tyrrellp34.html

Looking great..!! The 1/12th scale kits really are nice. You can add a lot of detail if you desire, or build them from the box and they look excellent. Looking forward to seeing this one come together, keep the updates coming..

Im getting excited to start running all the tubing and to join the engine to the drivers compartment.

I find that dragging the blade of my Exacto knife along the edge of parts can really easily clean up mold lines.

Thanks for the tip willimo. I never take care of things like that. I build to pass time and as an enjoyable hobby. Not a lot done lately with work and kids.

Decals turned out a no go...thanks old age. So the gauges are black right now. Going to make some and print them out on photo paper and glue them on.

So I started running the tubing but its so old that its breakin and looks like it shrunk as it doesnt fit any pegs. So time to find something else to use.

Started with this to make braided hose for the fuel lines. Braided craft cord and aluminum tape. Marked every 50mm and put a small strip of tape. Cut the tape in half to get 8 peices.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/mstngcobrasvt98/tyrell/20131008_191208.jpg
Now to gut the cord.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/mstngcobrasvt98/tyrell/20131008_191646.jpg
So theres 1 finished "tube"

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/mstngcobrasvt98/tyrell/20131008_191419.jpg
Distributor wired and ready to go
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/mstngcobrasvt98/tyrell/20131008_191200.jpg
and
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/mstngcobrasvt98/tyrell/20131008_194509.jpg
And after about 2 hours of cussing, finagling and hope, this is the finished engine. Even with the firing order, I hope.

Let me know if the braided hose works or not. I dont have access to new tubing so I made due with what I had.

Mmmm I'm afraid the braided hose are not valid. They are well built, but If you see the real tubes, these are transparent and thin:

decided to ditch the fuel lines. Decals were almost like stickers. After soaking for almost 25 mins, they still did not come loose... 2 front tires were "melted" in the box when I bought it.. But, overall the kit looks awesome. I think I'll leave 1 side all finished and the other all taken apart to show the detail. Hers the final pics, maybe someday Ill get the decal set to finish it.

I know the seam lines on the tires are still on, so i will expect that in replies. Thanks for watching. I enjoyed the bigger scale and....im out of glue...Night
