2008 TrailBlazer LS HighBeams

I have a 2008 TrailBlazer LS SUV truck. When I turn on the headlights, if I moved the stick forward to activate the highbeams, the headlights turn off, no high beams either. If I pull the stick backward (towards you), the headlights remain the same but no headlights either. I can see the headlight icon under the dash turn on when moving forward and backward, but I don't get any highbeams. I have checked the two fuses for high/low beams with a penlight, fuses are not the issue, i don't think. Any tips ? Please help me, I can follow directions..thanx.

See if the bulbs are any good. Its not that rare for both sides to burn out.

I think GM uses high and low beam relays. Try wiggling the relay around to see if its losing contact in the box.

If its not the bulbs, fuses, or relays, I'd look at the switch as GM has had issues with them for years on other cars.

Agreed that you should confirm if the bulbs are the issue or not. GM tends to use the high beam filament for the DRLs. If your truck has DRLs, then those filaments are getting a lot of burn time at a reduced voltage, so they could have easily burned out.

When you press the turn signal stalk forward you are turning on the high beams which would turn off the low beams. That's consistent with what you are experiencing. And when you pull back for the "flash to pass" feature, the low beam stays illuminated and the high beam is also powered, which also sounds consistent with what you're experiencing. It sounds like the switch is working correctly (as further indicated by the high beam indicator lighting in the instrument cluster).
