Ok guys, so I really needed another project huh, but this is one I couldn't resist.
Having watched numerous video's (Youtube) and viewing dozens/hundreds of pics of these awesome cars, I decided to give it a go..:grinyes:
Starting point is the already awesome 1:12 Tamiya 934 race car, so it's going to require some heavy modifications if I intend to get it right.
http://images41.fotki.com/v1580/photos/6/63306/12358693/top-vi.jpg
Body mods have already begun, but I'll hold off from that until it is something worthwhile showing. :evillol:
Hopefully.....something like this.

Note: this will be my interpretation of an RWB and will differ in some areas.
So, beginning with the motor (isn't that where all builds start, by gluing the motor together ), it was assembled as per instructions. Lucky I can read drawings, as it is totally in Japanese, even the paint call-outs.
Several additions were added for oil line fittings etc, but mostly out of the box.

Plug housings were modified by drilling out their original fittings and inserting some aluminium tube.

I will them make plug boots similar to this one. It's just a "left over" from one of my Datsun's.
http://images38.fotki.com/v266/photos/6/63306/12358693/DSCF8945-vi.jpg
I decided to make my own exhaust headers, as the kit ones just didn't suit what I had in mind....
http://images116.fotki.com/v108/photos/6/63306/12358693/DSCF8954-vi.jpg
Not the prettiest, but they will do the job.
http://images115.fotki.com/v607/photos/6/63306/12358693/DSCF8959-vi.jpg
And what I "had in mind" was a set of these babies.......
http://images62.fotki.com/v1483/photos/6/63306/12358693/DSCF8984-vi.jpg
http://images18.fotki.com/v61/photos/6/63306/12358693/DSCF8986-vi.jpg
Just a tip.....if you're looking at getting some of these for a 1/12 build, compare the 3D images between the scales.
These are actually 1/16 and I chose them because they have the turbine impeller detail, the equivalent size in 1/12 didn't.
And whilst not entirely photo-typically correct, this is where I'm heading for the intercooler....
http://images41.fotki.com/v209/photos/6/63306/12358693/DSCF8991-vi.jpg
Well, that's where we're at for now, more as it happens, and some body work soon.
Thanks for stopping by, and fire away if you have questions or critique.
Cheers
Greg

Haha thanks guys. :)
Small non-pictorial update...
I am adjusting the exhaust headers just a wee bit. The orientation and placement of the turbo's isn't quite what I wanted...:screwy:
One side was an easy fix, the other requires a new header altogether. :banghead:  No biggie....
And I have done some more with the intercooler, but still need to sort out the "into the plenum" area.... Still working on that.....
More soon guys
Cheers

Another tiny update, though no work has been accomplished on my behalf. :p
Just received an email from a mate who is making some awesome wheels for me. (link enclosed)
I contacted Jim some time back with an idea in mind, and he has been more than helpful and extremely accommodating in it making it all come to fruition, thanks Jim.
IF you are thinking of a different set of rims for that next Porsche build, please follow this link....
https://www.riverviewhobbies.com/ProjectViewer.aspx?cat=6&proj=15&view=10
Still in early development, these are CAD drawn by Jim, he will then program them into his CNC machine, make some masters and they will be available in resin to any and all who are interested. Via his website @ Riverview Hobbies.
More to come.......soon......
Cheers

Woooow that's awesome! I don't have a Porsche, but I do have a 240z and a R32 that can probably use some work wheels. Haha

Awesome work so far! I'm interested in some turbos for my R32 project and maybe wheels.

Stump, I'm sure you've noticed the omission already, but don't forget the rain gutters!!! :)
I have no idea why Tamiya missed them, possibly because the body mould was also used for their RC car (I think!?).
