4 wheel drive indicator light for 98 jimmy

i have a 98 gmc jimmy and the 2 wheel and 4 wheel hi light flicker back and forth. it doesnt do it all the time but is getting more frequent. Is this something to worry about?

Does it happen when you try engaging the 4wd? Or just intermittently? Does the 4wd engage? Is this a push button 4wd?

It is a push button. the four wheel drive does not engage when the lights flicker. i have not noticed it when in 4 wheel drive. havent had to use it since last winter. It was doing the same thing a while back and replaced the bush button part on the dash. That seemed to work for a few months, but is doing it again.
