Ok Guys, Help An Independent Girl Out With A Lock Cylinder!!

I just replaced the key lock cylinder on my '96 Explorer Sport, it cranks without any problems but it won't cut off. I have to pop the clutch to stall it and unhook my battery cables. I have a new ignition switch but I wasn't able to change it out tonight due to lack of light and tools. Could that be the reason why it won't cut off, or do you think I have a faulty lock cylinder? :banghead: :icesangel

You probably changed the key cylinder for a reason, correct? Was it doing the same thing before that it's doing now? If so, then I definitely suspect it's not a faulty key cylinder, especially if you're able to remove the key. The issue will most likely either be the linkage that connects the cylinder to the ignition switch, or the ignition switch itself.
