A/C Pump Mount?

I had a LIM malfunction, so tore apart my engine to replace it. I pulled it to clean everything out and check tolerances while I had it apart. Everything check out within specs. So I don't know why it's so damn noisy? Knocking when it's cold, especially if I step on the gas hard. But still a bit noisy when it's at operating temp. And I wanted to take the transmission apart and find the noisy bearing, but didn't have the transmission book. I don't have the book for my car even. So my problem is, it sat for a few years, now I'm trying to put it back together, and it seems there is a bracket missing for the A/C pump to mount to the engine. I need a picture of it so I know what I'm looking for in my garage. lol
Hope I can find it, but it wasn't with the rest of the parts I put in a bin and a big plastic garbage can to keep the parts all together. I may need good close up pictures of the engine compartment to find where everything goes too. And why all the bolts that should have been in one spot together seem to have some missing? Idk. lol

The obvious question, you had a lower intake leak, why take it all apart?

Was the engine knocking or making noise BEFORE you took it apart?

By tolerances, you checked the specs on the crank and push rod bearings? Piston pins?

the obvious thing is, the lifters bled down? If you had this noise before, which previously went away when warm, and then progressively was longer and longer, until it didn't go away, then we could be talking about the dreaded piston slap....

Don't have a picture, but I believe it had three bolts(so three holes) holding it to the block, and the front had a semi circle with three holes for bolts and the rear had a smaller portion with one hole....naturally, the bracket was as wide as the compressor was long(not counting pulley?clutch)....kind of hard to miss the shape of this....

I doesn't seem to line up with any bolt holes on the block, and from pictures I can find online, it looks like there may be something else there. But the pictures I can find are not very good. I was thinking of driving by the car dealerships to see if there is a Grand Am GT in the lot and see if they will let me look under the hood if I find one.

Brcidd is correct......if there are two long holes on the compressor(perpendicular to the centerline), it's bolted directly to the block......

So that's what that little aluminum thing was. lol
I painted it black. With that in place, it bolts up perfect now.
Went by the dealership and when they looked up the parts, it showed the diagram
with that bracket on it.

As I mentioned, I may need other pictures under the hood to finish putting it together. I don't remember which of these wires go where on the starter, can someone help me out there please.

And I can not find the wires with the connector that connects here. There is one just like it on the other side, but a connecter is there to plug it in. There is another I can't find on the back side of the engine, but I could not get a good picture of it yet.

This is your cam position sensor and it should be on the back side of the block and work its way around the driver's side and come up to this point. It will be two twisted wires. Make sure it does not come in contact with any exhaust parts.

This is your cam position sensor and it should be on the back side of the block and work its way around the driver's side and come up to this point. It will be two twisted wires. Ok, on the large stud on the starter, I think are two wires....one is the large positive cable from the battery.....the other is the line that goes up to the alternator.....small purple wire should go to the small "S" stud on the solenoid....this is the purple wire from the P/N switch.....the rectangular object that has a plastic tie is just mounted to a stud for ground.....

I think RKVONS meant to say crank sensor not cam sensor.....the harness comes from the crank sensor in the back of the block and inserts into the ICM on the driver's side...the two wire connector on the passenger side to the ICM is the power and ground......the 4 or 5 wire harness goes on the driver's side of the ICM, and communicates with the PCM.........

So from how I read that, there should be a 2 wire set with connectors that go from one to the other directly. So I need to find that wire with connectors.

No, there is not a connector that goes from one side to the other. The Crank Position Sensor on the back of the engine has a two-wire lead that goes to the connection on ICM on the driver's side.

It's hard to say where this one goes, but you should have an EVAP vacuum solenoid on the back of the engine, mounted on two studs that the ICM is mounted on. This also has a spot for a two-pint connector.

It seems the link here shows it is just a connector on each end of 2 wires that goes from the one on the block to the one on the coil connection.
But, I can't seem to find it in all the parts. May have to buy a new one. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

The two wire connector by the alternator.....possibilities are: the power/ground for the ICM on passenger side.....the VES solenoid on the power steering.....the purge solenoid behind/below the coils/ICM.....
