Despite of many started threads I've decided to start another one, because I'm building this model time to time. It's an another long time WIP. Anyway, it will be interesting to some of you to follow up this thread.
I want to get the road version of the BMW E9. I think this is one of the most beautiful BMW's ever.

It has a wrong shape and size - it's a bit bigger regarding a length and a width.

At the first sight the lenght of the rear end is wrong. And also an inclination of the C-pillar.

The roof is narrower and the hood is wider in the front end. Also the side panels have wrong inclination to a vertical plane. On the next photos I show you the changes of the body I've made.

Being a BMW fan and owner i'm thrilled to see more Beemers here. Like many of your existing threads I'll be following this one closely.

To Honny: Aston is on the table everyday. I'm working with its body and hood now. I've met some troubles, that didn't allow me to go forward.

Update. The front and the rear fenders are mostly done. The front panel was installed back to the place. We can see now the rough body appearance.

Man, sometimes I wonder why you even start with a kit. This is looking incredible.

More than two years has gone from the last update. Time is running too fast!
I have decided to continue the body works. All the side moldings were deleted. The front jaw was formed from Tamiya epoxy putty.

In any case I will leave it for the comparison. I have already threw out a 1/24 Tamiya's Lamborghini Countach, 1/25 Revell's Corvette Sting Ray III, 1/24 Revell's M-B 300 SL and some others. I will inform you about the next items for the trash can.
I will think about the race version in future, but this is not my cup of tea.

This car is a true classic, it deserves a proper representation in kit form. Resin or plastic, whatever, I will buy it undoubtedly !

While the printer is under repair, I tried to assemble a body from those parts that turned out to be tolerable. The frames of the side windows were broken when the roof was separated from the supports. Also three roof pillars have been broken in four places, even several times. Nevertheless, the body is assembled. Perhaps, after repairing the printer, I'll print one more body, more qualitative. Then I'll make a racing version from this one. Will see.

Why you do this easier and just print a single piece body?

Working area is too small I guess.

This was an experiment to find the best solution between printing time and surface quality. The working area is enough to print a single piece, but the printing time will take about 30 hours. Probably, I will print a single piece body, when my printer will be repaired.

My dream's car (apart from the Stratos and a classic 911 Targa...) ! Fantastic result so far. Now for the interior...
Not sure you mentioned it : will you consider selling the printed parts or even maybe the 3D file ? A friend might be able to print it for me.
