Rear vision camera issues...

I currently own a 2010 SLT AWD with under 45,000 km. In the last couple of weeks I noticed that the rear vision camera would not function properly (lots of static or nothing at all in the rear view mirror), while at other times in would work perfectly. There seems to be some electrical noise entering the circuit, I'm curious to see if unplugging/plugging the rear vision module would cure the situation, but don't know where the module is located.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem and what steps did you take to rectify.

My warranty has just expired in the last couple of months, so I'm wondering how much either the module or the actual camera would cost to replace/repair.
