steering rack and axle replacement

headed to town last week and THUNK...BANG!! I been waiting on the axles CVJ's to give out since the boots are cracked and all the grease is gone (didn't catch it till they were full of crud). Also, the steering rack end seals have been leaking forever so in the garage we go.
Anyone remember the size of the big nut I have to remove to remove the axles? I'd like to know before I start since I can barrow one from my work and save myself a trip.
Yes, I did several searches that resulted in no info on this prcedure. Surely axle and rack replacement have been covered here before. Anyway, she's a 1988 PA with all the bells and whistles that still work, except the leveling system.
PS, they just don't make comfortable cars anymore. They all have those hard leather bucket seats.

Thanks, it's actually a 36MM deepwell. I have both axles out and the steering rack on the bench. Back together tomorrow. What a greasy mess :rolleyes: If anyone needs to know anything about axle and/or steering rack replacement hit me up.
