Aluminum Transmission Pan

Hi,
I've purchased an aluminum transmission pan with a drain plug to make it easier when doing oil change. I forgot that the old one is made out of metal and had a magnet in it to catch the metal particles. I would like to install the new aluminum pan with a magnet. I have already gotten a magnetic drain plug but its smaller than the original magnet.

Any suggestions on how to glue or place the magnet inside the aluminum pan? Is the transmission filter made out of metal and if so, can it hold the magnet?

Tranny is a 4L60E

Get the inside of the pan, and the magnet completely grease-free, and use epoxy to glue the magnet in place on the pan.
Many newer cars have magnets glued into place in this manner.
