feeling the fuel pump

I recently successfully changed the relatively new fuel pump (mechanical not electric) gasket to stop a leak. Now I can feel the pump pumping hard with my hand on it and/or the fuel line. It feels & pumps faster when I add rpm = Ok. Engine runs fine. I tightened it down evenly from one side to the other to get it straight & torqued evenly. Any thoughts appreciated.

I don't want to sound argumentative here but the problem is what I stated. I probably should have been more emphatic. There is a normal (pulse) beat in a fuel pump & if it wasn't there it would indicate a weak pump. This is 2-3 times more powerful & it is a stock pump. With this "beat" it won't last very long. I was surprised when it just started to happen after changing the gasket. I just thought this may have happened to someone else. I probably will have to remove & reinstall the fuel line first & if that doesn't solve it - then remove the pump. Maybe something happened to the arm when contacting the camshaft.
