A couple of weeks ago my 2005 Buick century start making a noise when i hit the brakes and all the lights on the dash lit up like a christmas tree. The noise it makes when i hit the brakes is like humming sound and the pedal will get kinda spungy and push in and out, if i keep driving it stops and all the lights come on (abs, trac off, service engine, and sometimes the brake light as if the parking brake is on) after all these lights come on the noises stop and the brake pedal works fine. I was told that the anti lock brake pump was going bad but i didnt realize there was a pump. If anyone knows what is going on or knows what the problem is any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chad

Sounds like the abs modulator is activated erroneously you need to have the system scanned, this requires an ABS function scanner. Also scan for the cel, post back results.

I agree with Max. Sounds like the pump is working fine, but something is triggering the ABS function. Need to know the codes and take it from there. I would suspect its losing a wheel speed signal.
