Calmini Diff Skid

Does anyone have the Calmini differential skid? The construction looks good, and it's bolt on. But I am curious why there don't appear to be any drain holes? With it's open top I'd have that thing topped off with mud and water within a few minutes of offroading here in the PNW.

Are those drainholes on the side?

Not to be a party pooper, is this for sale yet, or another work in progress?
Good point though, it does look like it will trap quite a bit of crap/water. Definitely needs some perforations.

Mike S. has the diff skid, so they are shipping.
Shuld, your observations are correct. No drain holes, so you will have a cup full of mud in no time at all.

Steve from Calmini replied to my e-mail and said that all the differential skids they make have 4 drain holes in them. He hopes to update the photo soon. Good to hear!

If anyone here acquires a diff skid, let me know what you think. After my rear diff took a beating in Tellico, I am interested in acquiring one. I know it will reduce ground clearance a little, but IMO it is worth it since the third member setup on the Nissan uses a welded housing instead of the tough casting used on normal rearends. I prefer the third member for gear and chunk loading, but for rock hits, it doesn't seem to fare as well.

Well yours probably isn't a production model. :silly2:
(If you don't know what I'm referring to, don't take it personally, it's just an inside joke)

Thats not fair, I about blew an artery suppressing the urge to comment and you end up getting all of the fun. Anyway, shouldn't you be busy playing your infinitely inferior Xbox or something? :finger:
