Outside Temp

The outside temp. in my 1998 GP GT reads 15 and the temp for the last couple days has been above 30. Normally, I run the AC temp at 20 and the cabin is very comfortable, but this week I had to run it at 15 to feel any cool air circulating. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

You metric people.......:runaround:
So it says 59F, but it's actually 86F......
You obviously have auto temp.......if your outside temp sensor is "off", which it appears to be, this changes the logarithms(program) in the control head....
If the control head thinks the outside air is cooler than it actually is, this affects the output of your air registers.....also if you have a high humidity situation, this affects the system....for example, you will get cooler air with less humidity compared to the SAME setting on the control head, with higher humidity.....your system may also have "sun load" sensors that affect performance......there is also an "in car" temp sensor that affects performance....
I wouldn't worry about it, as long as you can MANUALLY control the temp of air you need.....

Thanks for the info Tech II. Where can I turn on the Auto Temp Senor?

if the outside temp is wrong- why not fix it? replace the OAT sensor or the wiring to it--may be bad as well.

I have no idea where the sensor is located so I'll have to do some research. Thanks for the tip.

In front of condenser behind grill- it is the only electrical device in that area- they cost about $19 at any auto parts store.
