I've always loved the suicide-door Lincolns, and the green '68 you show is identical that a friend's family used to have, but nicer (than theirs).

I intend to take one of my '66 or '67 Lincolns and make a convertible.

40 years ago when I was 9 and building models, we didn't have this great ability to see what and how others were making their creations. We had the picture on the box. There was no extra sheets of plastic available at the K-mart and no model stores within hours of driving. It amazes me the way models are cut and added to in order to get that next step in realism. I'm curious why only one hinge on each door and not two like the real car has? You're doing a great job, but it was something I was wondering. Is it too hard to get two hinges to work properly?

Simply mind-blowing!!! The detail work is unbelievable. I'm stunned. Believe it or not my favorite part is the underside of the deck lid... How did you make it look three dimensional? I'm always impressed with the amount of amazing builds I come across on this site but you, sir, have truly "created" an amazing piece of art. Wow!!!

I've been thinking for several days now about the trunk carpet after seeing the post. If you look at the real car picture, they are actually similar to floor mats and have a piece of material sewn in around the outside edges to keep the carpet from fraying. An extremely small point that someone not seeing the car picture wouldn't notice I'm sure. But I thought I might suggest seeing if you have some type of scraping tool to go around those edges to make a similar indentation. (I hate making these suggestions on such great works, I don't want it to come across as critical in any way, but some people find it helpful and don't want to smack their head later saying "why didn't I do that?")

I swear the inside of the driver's door looks exactly like the one on my Grandfather's '68. I remember well when he got it new in the spring of 1968, because I ran to the car just as he was opening the door and smashed my little 4 year old face into it.

The hood and hinges are done. at the moment working at the rear suicid doors. Pictures following this weekend.
