Car stuck in 2k RPM and 40MPH

Dear all, need your help LOL
My frined has a Maxima V6 2001, 2L, and 180K Miles, and has the anomaly that it sometimes
struck in 2K RPM and 40MPH.
When trying to accelrate, the car will ruttle and will be ready to shut down....any ideas???
