I was just reading in the closed thread....... someone had the b20 from a 88-91 prelude...so you can use that b20 and a b16/18 head for a crvtec type hybrid? if any one knows for sure....

i've heard it wont really work. b20a block is old different specs then b20b/z wouldn't be as strong and i forgot what else my mechanic told me but there were other stuff.

it does work but it wont mount up to your ride. The mounts are different. EVen if you get b-series mounts its not gonna mount up rite. its a totally different motor. Notice that how the motor tilts back like the other h22 h23 preludes.

ALLMTR/B16A4ME from the APAC forums is running this combo in his '84 Drag Civic. Apparently the block mounted to the B16A mounts from his previous motor.

its not gonna fit. Trust me. Look how its mounted. The only way u can make it fit is to get it customize. Just get a crv motor.

yeah i wouldn't go with prelude bottom end. especially that old it'd be all worn and it wouldn't be as powerfull. not worth the risk in my mind.

if you look real hard on www.ludespeed.com (http://www.ludespeed.com) you will find that the guy who made the website did it to his prelude. theres a helluva lot more problems than the angle the motor sits. like the fact that almost none of the oil passages or coolant passages line up, or that most of the headbolts dont line up. he got it to run, but it didnt produce an assload of power like the CRV b20 does. basically its not worth it.
edit, heres the direct linkb20a vtec (http://www.ludespeed.com/products/prelude/articles/vtec/)

b20a is only 135hp. why not just get an LS engine or B20B/Z.. alot less hassle.

Aside from the mounting issue....
The prelude B20 and the Crv motor are two entirely different motors. Everything down to the bore/stroke is different. Its totally not worth it.
If it was, I would have 10 of those things in my house right now. I see them all the time in the junk yards, and I just keep on walking.
I'd love to have an old prelude, but there isn't much aftermarket support out there for them.
