Hello All
Recently had my battery replaced in my Malibu and now the battery cover does not fit well. I almost have to hit the corners hard to get the cover to lock. My question is do I really need the battery cover or can i take it off. Also is there a particular battery that is best used with the Malibu?
Thanks all
James

Chances are, the new battery is slightly larger......

Actually I believe the cover helps keep things (like the battery, fuses, relays, etc.) cooler. In my car, (2005 model) theres an inlet that draws cool air from the outside and cycles it thru those components and out the back of the battery cover.
Your battery should be a Group 75 class

i bought a battery for our Malibu and they tried to give me one with side terminals and terminals on the top. The ones on top stick up and have plastic on them, at first I thought it was a good idea, then thought the cover wont fit....

unfortunately I didn't really have a choice as my battery died on Thanksgiving and only walmart was open. I'll consider getting a different battery or I'll see if Walmart has the Class 75 batteries
