capacitors???

ok im gonna be running 12000 watts, and i got all the amps and stuff but ive been finding out stuff about headlights dimming and losing power and i heard about caps that help form doin that so i was wondering how many should i need or should i get a seperate battery for my system.. if anyone can help i would really appreciate it thx:confused:

You can get a seperate battery, but that would also add to the draw from your alternator. You can also get capacitors, but it would take about twelve 1-farad caps. The rule of thumb is a 1000 watts per cap. Audiobahn has a 10-farad capacitor bank, but you would still need at least 2 more caps. Maybe some of these other stereo enthusiasts can give you a better explanation, or you can try your local stereo shop.
