Have ABS Traction control lights activate at times ABS codes are C0035 C0036 C0253. Has 120,000 miles on van measured resistance on abs sensor on wheel hub 1064 left side 1071 on right side. I'm doing brakes and due to mileage am relacing wheel hubs anyways but I don't know if that will correct this. The last code talks about a steering sensor. Can anyone tell me where to find that and how to test it? Thanks :loser:

The C0035-36 are both for the L/F speed sensor. Your readings are ok, so the problem is most likely in the harness that plugs into the sensor. They break right where they make the bend up and secure to the control arm. Replacement harnesses are 70-80 bucks from a dealer.

The C0253 indicates a problem with the steering position sensor, located at the bottom of the steering column. This sensor requires the use of a scanner to accurately diagnose. I have replaced several of these sensor for failures.

Do you suggest a dealer scan it? I replaced the wheel hubs due to age and wobbling. That has cleared the ABS code. I did not see any physical defects in the harness. Doesn't mean there isn't any. As of now the codes are not back. If the steering sensor needs replaced is this something I can do? I've been looking for the replacement procedure but haven't found it yet. After the sensor is replaced, you need a Tech II scan tool to "center it"...
