about 5000 rpm i believe....depends on the engine i believe.....also from what i hear the honda's higher lift cam's engagemnt is smoother so you don't feel it as harshly....

A gsr has an interesting VTEC setup.
~4400 rpm a second throttle butterfly opens up and allows more air into the engine, and at 5500 VTEC kicks in. You will hear this, sounds almost like an electronic noise from the motor.
VTEC is setup to be smooth engagment, so you won't feel it stock.

On a y8 SOHC motor i think it kicks in at 5800? Is this correct info or not. Also with a Vtec controller whats the soonest you should set the vtec to kick in before it does not make a difference and hurts performence?

my y8 was 5500 engage, and revving down is 5600 disengage.
With my p28, now it's 5300.
