In terms of performance/gadget/comfort, I think as of now the new S Class is the "king of them all y'all". Since Maybach is no longer being made, Mercedes have made a number of its options available on the new S. The forthcoming AMG versions should be mind blowing in terms of performance.

In terms of reliability and assembly quality the Lexus LS460 remains the benchmark.
