2006 325i BMW E90 Oil Change Question

Changed the oil in 06 BMW, there were tiny metal shavings and 3 round silver balls, almost like bb's but bigger in the drain pan after oil was drained. What could this mean? I know this can't be normal and now I'm afraid to drive my car in case it will damage the engine. The car was bought used. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

That is definatly not normal. Is the engine running rough? How long has it been since the last oil service? Has any engine repair been done recently?
