Vibration damper bolt Stuck Help Suggestions needed

My son has an 03 Civic EX that has had over heating problems. The other day it did it again and he did not stop driving soon enough. When it quit it would not start after it cooled down. It was towed to my house. I filled the cooling system and try to start it again. It sounded like no compressions so I did a compression test. 120, 60,60,145. not good not to mention the liquid spraying from the unplugged cylinders. So we have a bad head gasket or worse. I trying to remove the head I am unable to remove the vibration damper or crankshaft pulley bolt.

The question is if this bolt is left hand thread. I presume it is not. I have a 2 foot breaker bar and using a bottle jack to apply force I have not had any luck. I am looking for suggestions.

Do you have enough room for an impact wrench? That bolt shouldn't be that tight and I can't remember if it has left hand threads.

jamexxics thanks for the reply.

Yes and I tried my impact wrench. I am looking for a long extension so I can get the breaker outside the fender. Then I can use a length of pipe to apply more torque.

This problem is solved. A 20 inch extension with the 19mm socket. The 2 foot breaker was extended with a 3 foot length of black pipe. I figure I applied 600 lb-ft of torque to loosen the bolt.

I hope this resolution can help some one else.

Wow Don! I never would have guessed that bolt was so tight. Thanks for the tip and glad you got it loose.
