2002 Malibu intake manifold gasket

Hi Folks,
I was reading this thread and got a lot of good information out of it.

I read that several removed the fuel rail, others did not. My question is that if I choose not to remove it to replace the gasket, do I still need to empty the gas. I would guess not, but, I would rather ask. Thank you.

If you do not disconnect the fuel line, no need to relieve pressure. I do not remove the rail. Only pop the injectors out of the intake and lay the rail with the lines attatched, out of the way.
