1998 remote cover needed.

1998 base model.
the remote works ok ,but the original "oem"plastic cover is busted.
anyone have one for sale.
i tried amazon and e-bay ,etc.,etc.

You mean the "key fob" plastic is broken?
There's dozens of them on eBay.

Buy the kind that is "correct" for your vehicle.
Yes, there's a programming procedure. Usually very easy, involves grounding a wire on the right side of the trunk opening.

If the "cover" is broken, and the remote still works, then just remove the cover and replace it(obviously the cover openings have to be the same), and there is no programming involved)......
Sometimes, you will find used car dealers have a bunch of old remotes, that don't work, and are just sitting in a draw in their parts department.....might find one that matches your cover......
I seriously doubt a '98 can still be programmed with the grounding wire trick....by this year, I think a Tech II is involved....
