I know the wisest thing to do when you drop any car is to also upgrade the struts....however I am on a fierce budget and need a little good advice.

If I put on some springs (1.5 to 2 in drop) and keep on my 13in steelies will I have a huge problem if I keep the stock struts?. I know that the bigger rim sizes will rub but I have a decent amout of room in the well with these little pizza cutters.

I never cut corners like this on my old accord but this bad boy is just my commuter and wifey says "No more $$ into the car...." but I think I can hide a couple hundred for the springs...she probably would not even notice it was lowered....

Thanks

go for it. I lowered my car 3 inches, and it quickly made the stock struts take a poopy, but only lowering 1.5" or so proably will give you a *little* more life on the struts. You'll only know for sure once your car starts gettin the "hoppies". You should have better luck with drop springs, as most are progressive rate and arent as bouncy as cheapie coilovers.

My crx is riding on stock struts with eibach sportlines which i cut 2 coils off them, it rides fine, but remember when u lower a car on stock struts they go like a thousands times faster, so u can do it just u will need to replace them way sooner than normal...

Yeah, I probably should upgrade the struts and do it right or I'll just be pumping more $$ down the drain to put them on later. I saw some H&R springs on ebay for a decent price. Anyone know where to get a good deal on some struts?
