Primer question

I know the order in which you can put paint down, Lacquer, Enamel, Acrylic. (LEA)

My question is on primers. For each type of paint, do I have to put the like primer down, or can I use a lacquer primer only?

Thanks,

Trevor

Hi!

You partially answered your own question.

You can always use a Lacquer primer as a base and then add Enamels or Acrylics on top.

You should not use lacquer paint (or primer) on top of Enamel or (waterbase or vinyl) acrylics or they most likey will curdle. But you already know that. :)

And my favorite primer is Tamiya Fine White and its a lacquer so it works under any paint. Dries quickly and creates a very smooth surface even out of the spray can.
